We found this place because we were looking for scones. Not the British scones but the mountain west type scones - I guess some people call it fry bread or something but I grew up with scones and my son grew up on scones which brought us here. This was our last stop on a 10-day road trip and my son just wanted a scone. I think he was a bit homesick so we diverted 20 minutes out of our way for a place that had scones on the menu. The place was packed but kept a steady stream of people coming and going without too much of a wait. It was just the kind of place that we needed. A place where the food does all work and they don't need to hide it behind anything fancy.
I got their soup (delicious!) and my son got his scone, which he devoured. I don't recall what else we ate but it was a good place to have our last memory for the trip. If we're ever up that way again, we'd go out of our way to go back. -

Don't judge this place by the outside or the inside! The breakfast the four had was top notch! One of the best kick-butt breakfasts we've had in Boise! The scones are the bomb! You will be craving these sweet pillows of goodness until the next time!

We went here for breakfast the other day and it was a great local greasy spoon. This is not a fancy breakfast spot where your going to have bloody mary's and mimosa. The decor is an old log cabin look to it. We order the two eggs with bacon and hashbrowns and one scone. The eggs and hashbrowns were cooked to perfection. The scone was very interesting and we got it with cinnamon and sugar. The scone is more like a donut or churro than a scone but it is quite good but very very rich. Overall, this is just a local food greasy spoon with good solid breakfast.

Don't bother coming here unless you've got a BIG appetite! It may not look like much on the outside (or the inside), but you won't notice that once they bring out your food. Their speciality is their scones, which are to die for!

I came to update my rating because my first two times at this place were subpar. I guess every place hires that's downtime and over the last two years I've been here a bunch more times since and I can't remember when the last time I had poor service or any problems with food. Everything is gummy and I crave their scones.
This visit I got a sandwich and soup combo that was quite a deal at under $7. I think it was probably the best turkey and bacon not that I've ever had. I'm super full I'm super happy.
